Decking Joist and Bearer Spans

The following Treated Pine timber span tables are provided as a method of estimating material costs. They are not to be used as a basis for design in any construction, whether it be structural or landscaping.

These spans must not be applied to any treated pine purchased through The Log Factory.

For more detailed and accurate spans, we recommend that you purchase a copy of the relevant Australian Standards, or seek professional advice from a registered Engineer.

In some cases your builder may use spans greater than those listed below. This is because they have a greater working knowledge of construction scenarios which may include continuous spans and cantilevers.
